Rudder Rubbing on 331

I have a 2001, B331 and over the last season I've noticed a squeaking sound when the wheel is turned and the rudder moves. I identified the source of the squeak when my boat was hauled out at the end of the season. The top of the rudder, just aft of the area where the rudder post comes out of the hull, is rubbing against the hull at the base of the rudder post. It is a very small area, but it is rubbing off the gel coat and exposing fiberglas. My rudder has about an inch of up/down travel. When the boat is in the water, the rudder post is at the top of its travel and rubs against the hull. I can push down on the rudder post at the quadrant, but the rudder comes back up to rub the hull when the wheel is turned again. I examined the quadrant area very closely, but there doesn't seem to be a way to adjust the up/down travel of the rudder post from inside the boat. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? Can it be fixed without dropping the rudder?
