I haven't forgotten you guys, but it is 18 days later, and this sailing vessel is still not home. Once Foss rudders got back from vacation, they immediately made and shipped the rudder to the boat yard. The yard promised to put it in on Saturday. Well, now they are saying Tuesday. We are soooo frustrated with 2 boat yards in Freeport. As for the cause of the rudder post breaking, the insurance company said wear, and corrosion. There is at least 1/4 inch thick stainless steel completely around where the post broke. We are planning on contesting the surveyors findings, but right now after almost 3 weeks, and lots of $$, all we want is to get this baby home.
