Rudder repair

We've hit rocks and broken the clasp that holds the bottom part of the rudder to the transom. I'm interested in knowing where to find a replacement part, whether anyone has had to make that repair, and how difficult it is. Thanks - R

Your gudgeon is broken?

Try HMP for replacement parts. I imagine you will haul out before doing the repair? Much easier to do on land.

Are you speaking of a Gudgeon? The female part the holds the Pintle? If so, they usually come in 1/2 inch for your size of boat. You can purchase gudgeons at West Marine, or IdaSailor.com
