The most common complaint that I have heard about is rudder wobble which is corrected by dropping the rudder and wrapping sheet teflon around the shaft. Not to be done while in the water.I have not heard of any problems with splits or anything else.The tiller is another problem altogether as it tends to sweep the cockpit area clean of people.

can't imagine what the issue would be. pole on a bearing through a hole in the hull;rudder set on the pole. they really aren't complex....... . what could be the problem? regards, jim
