Rudder Problem

Purchased a Lancer 30 recently, and during haulout I noticed that the top of the rudder was about 2 inches below the rudder shaft housing. I don't know if I am missing a spacer below the Quadrant or below the Rudder Cap, or if this is a normal condition. The rudder post cap and emergency tiller nut rests on the housing above the Quadrant and the cables from the Quadrant appear level. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or if I should raise the rudder with a spacer of some kind. Thank you for any comments on this. Barry

Rudder Bushing

I'm not familiar /w the Lancer 30; but I agree /w you - that it appears the Rudder is hanging low. Perhaps you are missing a Rudder Bushing/Bearing?
