does anyone know the exact workings of the rudderpost on a first 42. mine seems to be quite stiff and i removed the ring at the base of the molding in the bilge and greased it.. but i noticed the bolts were not all tight and was not sure if it was some kind of seal .. and can you lube the teflon piece it spins in.. i have a straight rod attached to the quadrant and the wheel and pinion assembley moves easily when removed from the quadrant.. any help would be appreciated
