My 2" rudder post has corrosion where it exits the fiberglass blade. This is also exactly where a 1/4" shim sits between the bottom of the boat and the top of the fiberglass. I understand that stainless steel rusts from a lack of circulation of water around the exposed surface but it also seems counterproductive to attempt to seal it in 5200 or paint. Any ideas? Thanks
