I have a 1974 H25. The rudder was loose and seemed to bind in heavy weather. I have dropped it and found that the post was just in a fiberglass sleeve, with no bearings at all. Is this normal? It looks like the bottom of the tube is worn, allowing the post to rattle in it. Ther seem to be a few areas abouthte size of ta quarter that aremissing a chunk of epoxy. I am thinking if I can wrap the post with some sort of frictionless material (teflon?) I can make it fit better but still move freely. Any thoughts? Should I also try to repair the tube? Bob Tucker Ta
