I was having a problem for the past couple of weeks with a sporadic
leak. I would use the boat and the bilge would remain dry. Another
time I would use the boat and the bilge would be full. There didn't
seem to be any relationship to whether I used the engine or not.
The short story is after worrying and looking at everything I finally
looked at the tube that contains the rudder shaft.
There is a platic pipe at the top of the bronze pipe held in place
with a hose clamp. The hose clamp had corroded and fell off. In
rough seas the water purculate up the pipe and spills into the bilge.
