Does anyone know where I could find this style replacement pintle for my 1985 Hunter 25.5 rudder or the best way to go about repairing this? Also the upper pintle is like new. How safe is it to still take the boat out in that condition? I haven't seen that style pintle anywhere. Any suggestions much appreciated.

So far, the SBO store (right here) has been batting 1000 every time I've called them looking for an obscure part. I know their web page is sometimes hard to find stuff on but just call them. When they didn't have the part I needed they would source it for me.

In addition to replacing the pintel, you might want to check the anode on your motor, and for any stray current from your shore power. I can’t help but wonder if these may not be related to you pointless corrosion.
Disconnect any shore power from the dock and raise outboard motor out of the water. Then hang a sacrificial zinc overboard to see if any stray current in the water from other sources.
