While researching trailerable sailboats I came accross A method for using rope and a bungee to connect the rudder to the outboard. This was acutally done on a Catalina 250(see link). Has anyone tried this setup on a Water Balast Hunter? Thanks

I spent about $75 for my tiller link but I guess you spent, what, $5.00? Looks to be every bit as good, too. Any steering link is better than nothing, and Arlyn's mod is OK if you want to remove it while sailing to avoid a constant bias. Since I can't get the outboard back down easily on an H240, I just leave it down (no racing for me). It's good to always track the outboard to the tiller in an H240 or H260 because the rudder uphaul line can (and did to me) foul the prop in a backing manuever where the outboard's tiller is to starboard, or if you center the outboard and try to steer with the rudder.

Do any of you have a popup killer running, or perhaps a home firewall? For some reason these don't seem to play well with photos on our site. I will continue to investigate but please understand this is not simple: some people can see it, some can't often using the same operating systems and browsers.

Phil, I got this link....
by going the the photo forum archives and doing a search on "model 260" and "rudder to motor connection" in year 2000. I was able to view the photos in the past cause I printed them out. I would advise anyone who finds a photo/article that they are interested in to print it out right away since these things tend to go away forever for some reason.... Currently I cannot view the photos via Win2k or UNIX although the article shows up. -Tom
