I just installed a new ray marine evo autopilot system in my hunter 33. I bought a ray marine rudder angle indicator and would like to know if anyone else has installed one on a 33 and how the did it. It is a spring loaded base with arm that ties to metal arm on top of rudder shaft with linking rod. In order to mount the base, it will have to go forward of the rudder arm and be raised up in height so that the 2 arms are roughly the same elevation. I am not sure the best way to mount it, maybe a teak block epoxied to deck under access panel behind helm? Should I fiberglass the block in? it will need to set on a sloped piece of the deck so the block will have to be beveled so the top sits flat.
