During the latest storm Gabriela While being pulled off the shore line I broke my rudder and skeg off. Does anyone have an idea how it's put together or have any drawings. The rudder seems to have a hollow tube that broke off and the skeg came off the boat leaving several long studs sticking out. The bolts that hold the skeg didn't pull through the hull. Luckily it's not taking on any water either.

We began making the rudders for hunter in late 1978. If your rudder is the original our rudder will be quite a bit lighter. we build new rudders, repair existing rudders, and bust out and remake old rudders. I appreciate your encouragement. Everyone has been very nice to deal with. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Rudder/skeg

Mike, just had a new rudder and skeg made and installed on my '77 h30 a couple of weeks ago. Foss Foam made the rudder, but had to go to the Hunter factory to have the skeg made. Had all the installation done at Bob's Boatyard in Osprey,(formerly Lighthouse Boatyard), right at the Blackburn St. swing bridge, NE side. Sorry, don't have the number with me right now. They did an excellent job. They did have to make some minor alterations to the skeg for it to hang correctly and accept the rudder. Choose your yard carefully. If you do choose to talk to this yard, ask for Tom, the yard supervisor. Tell him I referred you. Good luck. Roland S/V Fraulein II
