After the better part of the season, I've noticed a consistent "high-speed" flutter or vibration in the tiller. I don't notice it when we're motoring, but definitely when we're under sail. The faster we go under sail, the more pronounced the flutter / vibration. But I don't recall that its linked to the amount of weather or lee helm. There isn't any build-up of slime on the rudder and the tiller is attached securely. I don't think its the original rudder, but I think it is an exact replacement. The rudder seemed like it was OK when we mounted it in the spring and the boat handles GREAT. It just has this vibration. *oIs this due to turbulence coming off of the [shoal] keel or is it some kind of early warning of a problem?
