Rudder Bushing ?

I have a 1975 ODay 27 and noticed that I was getting a kind of chatter through the tiller especially when under power. Now that she is on the hard, I can see that there is play where the rudder shaft emerges below the waterline. There appears to be some kind of a bushing there. Has anyone ever dealt with this kind of thing before? Any suggestions on how to deal with it?

We have been looking at a Catalina 36 MKII lately. It is on the hard right now so it is easier to check hull, keel and rudder. It looks in pretty good condition. I plan on checking all internal hidden areas with flashlight and mirror soon. The only thing that bothers me so far is that the rudder...

Thanks very much for the links and the information. I have found, though, not just the answer but a terrific resource Virtual Silver. Not only did they have the part, but Rudy Nickerson, there was a former materials manager for O'Day so he knew all about the installation (which I had previously done wrong).
