rudder breakage on 2003 Hunter 260

On our fourth time out on our new 260 our rudder snapped in two while we were sailing close hauled in about a 10 knot wind. We learned from the dealer that Hunter recently reported problems with rudders on several models. Has anyone had a similar problem? Will the replacement rudder have a different design?

rudder stock broken

I also suffered a rudder stock failure. Whilst Hunter supplied a replacement very fast, they advised that there was no manufacturing defect. BUT the glass fibre that the stock was made from, (one year old), was in very bad shape. In my humble opinion a manufacturing failure. I was able to carry out a compltete removal and replacement whilst still in the water......Photos are available, and were forwarded to hunter.
