Rudder Bearing

So of you have posted that you created a new bearing surface for the lower bearing inside the boat ( not the botom of the skeg ). I read in the West System manual, that the new bearing surface should be 3/4 inch thick or greater. I don't have nearly that much play. I might have about an 1/8 to 1/4 inch play. Do you think I should resurface the bearing ( the rudder is currently out )?Thanks

West System

I used the West system to resurface my rudder bearings. Don't remember reading anything about 3/4". Anyway it worked like a charm. No more rudder "slop". Materials cost about $60.Tom S/V Miss JennaH310
