Has anyone tried this new Rudder Bearing Epoxy repair kit Catalina Direct is marketing to tighten up the rudder post in old Catalinas? It seems to make sense, and looks to be an easy remedy, though you have to buy it to get the full instructions. I don't think it requires removing the rudder in order to do this, but if so, the picture of the kit doesn't show a sleeve to place inside to squirt the epoxy into. Is there another part to renewing the rudder that should also be done at the same time, like replacing the rubber seals at the top of the rudder? Inquiring minds want to know...
