Rubberized keel

Has anyone looked into coatinf the keel or even the bottom with the rubberizing compoud used in truck bel liners That stuff is guranteed for life on the truck Its a winter salt enviroment I wonder if its been tried Uwe

No, nobody has . . .

. . . and with good reason. I would think that submerssion in water would be a little tough on the rubber compound. It is different kind of water exposure than a truck bed liner is exposed to. Regards, Ted

some thoughts

One consideration would be the weight. It can add a couple hundred pounds to a full size truck so on a C22 it may add way too much weight. The second could be adhesion to fiberglass it may not do too well. Third the texture is not smooth by any means and sailboats like smooth bottoms. Fourth the UV stability is poor with most bed liner materials without an additional coating. Finally most are only avialible only in black and that might be ugly :eek:)
