Rubber stopper for standing rigging

Where can I buy or what can I use as a replacement for the little black rubber stoppers that help keep the stays in t

he mast?

The manufacturer stopped manufacturing them, but they've been replaced with a device that's harder to install but should be more reliable.

I have a 1993 hunter 23.5 and solved the problem by adding a 1/2" x 3" x 1/8" piece of aluminum horizontally across the stay and retaining hole , held in place with stainless steel screws at each end . My stay never pops out when lowering and raising the mast . Easy to remove your stay if needed by removing one of the screws and loosening the other and let the piece of aluminum hang on the mast . Fast and secure remedy !

Try carving a rubber “cork” from a wine bottle. With a little experimentation, you’ll find the perfect shape quickly. Works better than the original.
