The front page of a local newspaper says that the winds where my boat is in the water reached 80mph, so i guess the very minor damage i have is nothing to fuss about. Two fenders (out of 4) missing, some decorative striping scraped off, a small surface ding, and about 6 feet of the rubber edge trim knocked loose. It appears that the rubber molding was knocked out of the metal extrusion by rubbing against the dock edge. Question is, what is the easiest way to get it back into place? Would appreciate some input. Thanks, Curt

rub rail install

havent done it on the mac..... yet. But on other rub railings, I pull it tight, and either hit it with a rubber mallet, or fit the top and bottom edge in the molding, and pull from one end, and relax it, which also works it into the molding. its a tedious job, best done on land. often the rubber shrinks so you end up a few inches short at one end. ps: good time to seal under and over the molding, (w/ life calk, or similar) for leaks

Rubber Mallet

I've done it on my 26D with a rubbber mallet. Just take your time and try to tap it in a bit at a time until the entire length has started to seat. Then work back and forth increasing wack-strength until it's well seated. I didn't use it myself however I imagine that it would go in easier with soapy water.
