THANKS GUNNI!!!!!

Got the rub rail you recomended, good stuff nice folks to deal with
Only thing I did differant was to run it through my thickness planer to make a flat surface on the outside and then I mounted a 1/8 thick by 3/4 wide stainless bar stock strike plate on it.The bar stock was a fraction of the cost but tougher

The amount of thought that went into this was incedible though. To make a jig to hold it in place on the side of the boat was tough because of the curve that our boats all have, until I could drill and start the mounting screws. Next was spacing, and most all the starting point so that the fasteners would miss the bulkheads.
All the interier panels had to come out for the fasteners which was happening anyways so if anyone is planning to install a rubrail keep this in mind which increases the diff factor tremendously
Thanks

Glad it worked out for you. You don't need to through-bolt a rub rail. You just need to size your screw fastners correctly to keep them from penetrating and attach the rail with 3M 5200. Yes, this is an excellent use for 5200.

Didn't want to chance it with screws and glue so took the hard way!!!

If this rail gets knocked off for some reason I'll have much bigger issues to deal with
Thks

Also counter sunk the strike plate and used flat head screws that don't quite go all the way in that way if you are an unwelcome guest along side you had better be ready to protect your gelcoat
