Rub Rail Replacement 450 Passage

Has anyone replaced their original gray rectangular rub rail with the version found on newer generation Hunters (white, stainless inlay, slightly tapered)?

I endured a bit of fiberglass damage during my last haul out and the rub rail will need to come off to complete the repairs. I would like to upgrade to a slightly more rigid, and perhaps a bit better looking rail.

Any first hand advise would be welcome and appreciated. Thanks!
