Rub rail hunter 29.5 reseal

I am resealing the rub rail on my hunter 29.5 Can any body tell me what would be the best type sealer to use ??

I used clear life caulk. Use tape on the rail and hull to help keep the spread down. I did mine this spring and it has held really well.

I am going to redo the rub rail on my 29.5. I am getting leaks in the cabin walls behind the vinyl/foam covering. The caulk between the rub rail and boat is separated and I suspect this is the source of water that then enters between the hull and deck union. Did you completely remove the rub rail or just re-caulk it? How did your project go? Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.
