Rub Rail Cleaning

Some time back, there was discussion on the best way to clean the rubber "rub rails" on the Hunters. Does anybody recall the final solution?

Suggest you search the archives under "rub rails" for some of the solutions offered by owners. My personal favorite favorite is Greased Lightning.From my own personal experience, I would advise regular cleanings. In my case, the stain is from sunlight and air polution. Once the stain is allowed to set and penetrate the vinyl material, it is almost impossible to remove.Wynn FerrelS/V Tranquility

Wynn's answer was right on the mark.We have always used a cleaner called "Vim" to clean rub rails. The most important thing is to clean them on a regular basis to keep them looking new.Regards,s/v Island Hunter

Mary Kate, Spray Away, sold by West Marine knocks it right off. I had stains that were set in for two years and it lifted them right out. This is the spray stuff you usually use to clean dingy bottoms. Works extremely well. About $8 or $9. Will last a long time.Chris, Festina Tarde
