Peggy, Your said to use Windex Outdoor to clean rub rails. Did you use full strength or water-down?

Brushing thinner

Don't know about the Windex but I know from experience that brushing thinner works exceptionally well. Wear gloves cuz it's nasty stuff but it cleans the blackish stuff off in a snap! LaDonna

Acetone

I've used acetone and it does a good job - but use sparingly

Scrubbing Bubbles....

in the bathroom cleaner section of your supermarket works like a charm. If your rail is really foul the kind with bleach works great. Peggy says that bleach isn't good on rubber so try the non-bleach first. After you get it clean follow-up with 2001 protectant. I tried lots of stuff but nothing has worked as well as this. Happy Cleaning!

There was an earlier post by the rub rail....

manufacturer. He said the rail is actually PVC not rubber. I have been using PVC patio furnature cleaner and it works like a charm.
