I'm trying to find out what the height of route 90 bridge id over the Assawoman Bay in Ocean City MD. It doesn't appear on any charts that I have found. The second section of the bridge from Isle of Wight to the mainland ove the St Martin River appears to be 35 ft (clearance at mean tide I believe). I've tried the Dept of Transportation, the Coast Guard and many old salts but can't get an answer. I have a Hunter 23.5 with 33'6" mast height and an additional 15 inches for a windex. I know I can ge tunder the bridge at low tide (tried it very slowly under power). It cleared and looked like I had 5 to 6' of clearance but it's hard to tell when your on the deck. It may have been 3 inches. I'd appreciate any ideas. I've bumped the sandy bottom many times but grounding the mast on the underside of a bridge is not an experience I wish to have. Thanks Hayden

Well, I checked the Maptech server to see if maybe you were using a different chart set, no dice on either of the two bridges. You might try the Maptech Guide for your area, there's often information in these cruising guides about this sort of thing. The Coast Guard in that area should be ashamed of themselves.
