just thought i'd pass along a tid bit..i was going through my old photos and log book and found pics of my rowing oars, i had some old winch handles cut and welded to some oar locks and used these 14' oars in the cockpit winches. i was able to get up to a pretty good speed rowing and it made manouvering around a tight anchorage very easy...i sculled with one after one of the knockdowns for the better part of a day. here is a link ..not sure if it'll work.

they are kinda long, but are easy to move and work around when underway..and were nice to have aboard, i always thought i could use one as a substitute whisker pole if i needed to...anyway, just thought i'd share and inexpensive idea that worked for me...

i should explain....the real advantage was in being able to turn the boat arount without waking forward progress, and in situations where i was backing into tight spots. fwiwK.L.Magee
