The 1985 Hunter 34 that I am thinking about buying has the compression post problem where water has been coming in and the Teak sole is rotten right next to where the compression post goes into the hull. What can I do?? How hard is it to replace the sole? Does anyone have experience with a similar problem? I saw the extensive coverage on the compression post, but no one mentioned sole damage? I thought I would cut out the rotten piece and replace it without removing the entire interiora and maybe bolt a thin metal plate over the new joint? Comments please?

expense

you can get new soles direct from hunters - apparently award to install but may suit you best in long run.
