First to ask for excuses for my English, I am Spanish and I attempt to do the best I can.
To drill hole and to put screws, nuts and washers only it is possible in the port side since in the roof of the bath there is a lid from where it is possible to accede easily. It is not the case of the starboard side, where we have to remove part of the whisper to access to the interior of the deck.
For it I have read and they have advised me (I am grateful for the advices to all) to hold the clutch with screws we need to make thread into metal plate under fiberglass with machine screws directly in the deck (it seems there is an aluminum plate inserted in the deck). Therefore we do not need nuts. Really this aluminum plate exists but … why is not it possible to hold as clutch as the others clutches? If the way of make thread directly at the aluminum is good, why Hunter manufacturer has not done it with the clutch that he mounts in a new boat?
I contacted Hunter and they explained carefully to me the way to remove the whisper and access to the interior of the deck. The whisper is tucked into a plastic track. At the corner where we want to remove the whisper we can push up on the whisper at the edge of the track which will allow the track to open and the whisper to be pulled out.
Now we can put and fix the clutch as we want.
To tuck the whisper back into the track you can use something like a putty knife or and old CD disc to push it back in the track.
I can assure you that the result is perfect.
Now I feel more relaxed because I have fixed the clutch on the deck as Hunter does in their new boats.
Thanks Hunter for your help and explanations to do the job.
