Look at the boat reviews for Hunters as well as Catalinas of the same vintage on this site. There are few unique problems - most revolve around what happens to fiberglass and balsa core over 20 years. Also check the archives - we have had a number of good chats on this subject over the years. Do plan for a survey as part of you contract to buy. And start loooking for a good surveyer now. This is how you really protect yourself in buying a good old boat. Both "Good Old Boat" and "Sailing" magazines have good articles on surveys in their most recent issues. David Lady Lillie
