I just checked the Pan-Mass Challenge web site and found that the event is scheduled for August 1 &2 this year. What great news! There's no conflict between the bike ride and the rOnDAYvous!.

Congratulations on your son being willing and able to ride the PMC with you and Joan this year. I'm sure the event will be that much more awesome as a result.

See you in July, if not before.

Long Island Sound Suggestions

Here are some LIS suggestions for 2009 rOnDAYvous:

Norwalk
Sheffield Island (no shore facilities, but plenty of place to anchor and picnic).
Cove Marina (has everything on the "list")

Northport
Seymour's: lots of moorings and dockspace. Rest rooms, but no showers.
Brittania Yacht Center has "everything", but is in a sterile location.
Vanderbuilt house is a fun tour (via taxi).

Oyster Bay
Plenty of moorings at OBMC (no dock space though) and they have all the ammenities. Nearby is a park, beach, and the T Roosevelt home, which is a great tour (via taxi).
