Roller Furling

I have a 1976 H27 and have thought of adding a roller furling for sometime. Last weekend when I entered the marina I noticed a boat being cut up. I also noticed that the roller furling with sail were nearby. I measured the furler it came to 31'. My fore stay is 35'. I am looking for the owner to see if they want to sell the unit but I am concerned that it will be too short. I also measured my fore sail and the leading edge is only 30'. I know the risk of buying anything like this but thought it was worth looking into. Any thoughts are appreciated.

May be able to buy extra length

Do some quick checking, you may be able to buy added sections to make the furler fit your application. Check with the manufacturer to see if parts are available for the model you are looking at. If the price is reasonable to make it worth the extra time required for adjustments, it is likely you can fit it to your boat and enjoy a roller furled foresail.
