Does anyone have any recommandations with regard to brand? It should be robust as I am
planning extensive off-shore cruising.

The nice thing about buying a Furlex is that it comes with everything
you need to install it, including a new head stay.

Installed the Furlex 100S a couple years ago. It was not difficult at all with two friends helping, and worked great from the start. It certainly seems adequate in size and in retrospect was a good choice for me.
