Roller Furling Question

Three questions about the roller furling on a '79 Catalina 30: Is original equipment on this boat the "Hood" single line furler, and if so where would replacement furling line for this equipment be found? Also, there's a spiral twist in the grooved forestay. Is this by design, or am I looking at a potential problem? Thanks,

This link should be able to answer your question. You basically just buy the line in an appropriate length and splice the ends together. There's a picture from the Hood manual that the other user posted.

I replaced mine a few years ago. I forget the actual size but they recommend 3x boat length with 1/3 cored. Coring flattens the end that is spooled. I bought it from Defender. Call them, they are very helpful.
