Wow, I had no idea there might be a forum specific to Hunter owners. Too cool, so I signed up. The 1978 model I purchased recently is absolutely perfect. I've never seen such a clean boat of this vintage. The sails are in great shape, YanMar diesel is cleaner than you could imagine. Clearly a well cared for vessel. I hope to extend that care.

My major question is about headsail furlers. I want to replace the standard rigging with a roller. Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed, tried and trued system owners would be appreciated. I have all winter to think about this. The boat is currently demasted and sitting in a marina parking lot, waiting for stepping back into service in May 2016.

Thanks in advance for any advice...Wayne ⛵

We are very happy with our Harken, installed by a P.O.

It has never failed, in any way, in 16 summers on Lakes Erie, St. Clair, and Huron.

Hi David, thanks for the response. I found this one website that carries several furlings for the Pre-1980 vintage Hunters. They carry Harken, Profurl, and CDI. Whatcha think about these prices for sail and furlor?

By the way, as a newbie I'm not familiar with the acronym P.O. for installation? Help a dumb sailor out here please!

We offer Harken (my favorite), Furlex and CDI flexible furlers. Give me a call, I don't think anyone can beat our price on Harken furlers. Toll Free 877-932-7245 x116, Mon-Fri, 9-4 Pacific

Hi Dave, thanks for the info. Do you offer packages with the Harken and Headsail combined? Is there specialized hardware required for the H30 forestay replacement? I will call you before the end of the week.

Best Regards...Wayne

Hi Wayne, it's best to install a new furler first, then measure for a new sail. There are no special considerations I'm aware of for your boat, but I will ask our rigger. We can only publish MAP pricing as per Harken rules, so yes, do give me a call when you can.
