Rollerfurling main
Warren; I have a rollerfurling main on my Beneteau 40. I've never taken it off, but will lower it this spring for a little maintenance and here's how I'd get it back up. This takes two people. Early morning when there's no wind, attach the halyard to the headboard. Vang and sheet are slack. Spray the slot feeder and the first two feet of the bolt rope with SailCote, or any dry silicone spray. Have one person hoist and the other feed and spray the feeder and the bolt rope at the same time. Put a rag down to catch excess spray. It should go up easily, if it doesn't, there may be something else wrong. Good luck. Larry W.
