I have an 2008 H25 with Roller Furling. It's very difficult to furl the jib in and out. I tried both tightening and loosening the Jib Halyard but it still hard to furl. The B&R rig has no back stay so I can't adjust the forestay. If anyone had this problem and found a solution please share it.
Thanks

I had the same issue with my 2004 H33. Found that the top swivel was sticking just enough to cause furling problems. A shot of lubricant in the appropriate areas fixed the problem.

I had the same problem on my 2008 H 25. tighten the upper shrouds to 37 and see if that will help. d

My bottom drum had a spacer that kept it centered above the turnbuckle that disintegrated. Works great now.

I know that they say there are no stupid questions but what does the 37 represent on the upper shrouds? And how would one know when you reach 37?

This may have already been looked at but check to see if there is too much furling line building in the drum. This can cause the furler to bind and turn slowly. The right balence is achieved when there is just enough line on the drum to furl and unfurl the sheet, but without extra line in the drum that can bind the whole process.

If there is too much furling line in the drum, that will cause the bottom drum to turn very hard. Also, look at the furling line coming out of the drum to make sure it is not chaffing or binding on anything as that can be a culprit as well.

Well I think I fixed the problem. Had to take the drum apart and tightened the turn buckle inside. This was a risky job as I did it over water and loosing a bolt or nut was a possibility. It turned out that the front stay was too loose which put the drum out of alignment when pulling the line. While I had the drum apart realized there are no bearings inside just a plastic bushing over stainless ring. Does anyone know if this should be greased or better yet have bearings added?
Thanks
