HI,

I hope you all had a great winter. I am getting my sails cleanned and want to take a good look at my CDI Furler. What should I do for a spring tune up. I have been told to just wash it with a good soapy water and let the rest alone? Any ideas would be appreciated,

Thank you and be well

Earl,
If the mast is down I'd certainly check the turnbuckle and pins inside the furler for wear or corrosion. I'd also ck the forestay at the top T fitting for fatigue or cracks and all the sockets and T fittings for the side stays too. Is the furling line in "like new" shape, how does the plastic extrusion on the forestay look. I know we get used to some wear or a sorta sloppy fit on some things but nothing beats the assurance of knowing there is no question about the rig/outboard/through hull fittings/radio/safety gear when the wind unexpectedly comes way up.

Now I better go check all of mine;)

Have a great season, Mike
