Converting to roller furling was the single best upgrade I have made to my Oday 23. I recommend it without reservation. As for converting your particular sail, only a sailmaker can tell you exactly what would be involved. I have a lightweight 175 genny that I originally wanted to make my roller furling sail, but my sailmaker talked me out of it. First, he told me it was too light to use as an everyday sail. Even reefed, it wouldn't be strong enough to last long. Secondly, he pointed out how much work it would need to be made into an acceptable roller furling sail. I decided to have my 100 jib made into my roller furling sail. Much cheaper, and as it turns out, much better performing over a large range of conditions. I eventually bought a new suit of sails (I went with a new 130 genny) and retired that 100; I haven't flown the 175 in 10 years.
