My boat's only major damage from two hurricanes (thus far) was the shredding of its roller furling jib. It was so knotted and wrecked and it had to be hacked off. I know and have used the sail size estimator on this site, but was wondering if anybody knows the size of the most common luff on this model boat? Total mast height is 49.5 feet (minus, what, five feet of hull?). And are the various roller furling foils compatible? This is a Schaefer, I think. Sail slides up one groove, halyard slides down the other. Hoping to pop a used 120 genoa on her if she survives the THIRD hurricane. Roger

Roller Furling

Roger To get an exact measurement just attach the business end of a 50 foot tape measure to the head shackle on the halyard, hoist, pull it tight and measure to the attachment point on the drum. The extrusions for all the furlers are unique to their brand and some to individual series eg - Harken Mark I is not compatible to the Harken Mark II & III series of furling. Good luck getting through the 3rd hurricane and I hope all is well for you and yours! Mike
