my CDI? roller furler landed in the mud! I rinsed it off as best as I was able, but it seems like there is a little more friction than before. Does anyone know of a rebuild kit or has anyone opened one up?

You'll be amazed at...

how simple the CDI is. If it's the version with the nylon bushing rather than the one with bearings...there are about three parts...don't worry about taking it apart...simple, simple. Just pull that pin and slide the drum up the foil, all the guts are exposed.

I had never

taken one apart either until the cable broke at the upper swage fitting. It is very simple when you get into it. I did as Dave said, then removed the keeper pins in the turnbuckle so I could take it all apart, after that I took the anti-spin fitting off the bottom and the whole thing came apart. Watch where the metal, and nylon washers go, and in what order then you can clean lube as you see fit. I replaced the cable and put it all back together in less than an hour.
