Rinse vs. chemical treatment

Peggie-Many thanks for your dedication to our waste. Anyway, I'm a liveaboard and I sail a great deal and abide by waste disposal laws. I was wondering if this system is worthwhile.... Is rinsing and then dumping the holding tank repeatedly a good/better solution than using chemicals? Does it clear the sludge out? Will this control odor/salt build-up? Thanks in advance!

You'd have to pump and rinse daily

Otoh, chemicals aren't the best answer either. I think a lot of your questions will be answered by reading the articles in the Head Mistress reference library. They'll give you an understanding of what causes odor as well as how to prevent it.
