Rig Rite is a legitimate business and the experience you are having is not unique. Some of their stuff is made on demand and may take a while to get out the door. They are the only source for some parts and pieces, so you are stuck with using them.

I have purchased from them before. If memory serves… very little communication, but the parts arrived and were exactly what I needed.

I have heard complaints, but I have bought from them with success. So I would say OK if you have no other option as it seems too likely that it could be a hassle. Not a scam though

I placed an order with a different company. I got an email stating the shipping label was created in Richmond VA at 1:30 PM. I am in Hampton Virginia, same time zone, and it was 10:30 AM.....

Did you say Z Spar or Z Diffusion?
Z Spar left the country back in the 1990’s but returned as US Spars. US Spars is outside of Gainesville Florida and talk with Dave in sales.

you might want to call the forum store here on this site and ask if they have the build list on your Hunter 280 which would have the mfg numbers on the mast

They're legit, expensive, and very old school. You'll get what you need but not in a hurry!
