For you New Orleans sailors.....is the Rigolets open from Lake Ponchatrain? We may be moving a boat from Slidell to the Mississippi Coast in a week and need to know. Thanks, Dick

The hwy 90 bridge was the problem. The new bridge is finished and the old bridge is permanently open. Thank goodness no more Industrial Canal!!!!!!

Rigolets Bridge
The new Hwy.90 bridge is finished and open. Old swing bridge is long gone. What Chuck said. Thankfully no more industrial canal, and the long run through the ditch from New Orleans.

Ponchatrain to Mississippi
Evening, I saw your post, In about three weeks I will be sailing from Moss Point to the lake . I was wondering what leg you are going to take. Are you planning to sail the outside or take the intercoastal? I have been bringing the boat(Catalina 27) home from Destin on my weekends off.Most of the trip in the intercoastal because of flat weather and doing the trip mostly by myself. From Destin to Moss Point was really a bad memory.A lot of motoring and really shallow water. The intercoastal is about 90 ft. wide,draft of about 12 ft. and if you went outside the buoys the draft dropped to 2-3 ft. I do not know at the moment without looking at my charts what the intercoastal is from N.O to Miss. but if it is similer,I would travel the outside.If you would not mind, Please post your trip so I can look at my options. So far I am planning to sail the outside. I will again be alone on this trip. I would really like some input on how your trip went. I am planning to make this one without stopping. I am thinking two days depending on the winds and weather. Please post how your trip went. Thanks, Dave
