How to rig? Small or larger diameter section at the boom? Diameter of the line? Do you have a better way to cleat it other than the clam cleat on the large section, which does not hold?

Joan of Pultneyville , We have the Z-SPAR ridged vang on Our boat but as it was already installed when We bought the boat I can only be of minimal help at this time .
