Which is the better choice of propeller for a Columbia 8.7 powered by a 23 hp Volvo Penta 2 cylinder MD-11C: a two blade 12x6 or a three blade 14x11? I had a pretty noticeable vibration with the latter on the boat (the shaft actually pulled out of the coupling to the transmission), but I also know I needed a new cutlass bearing.

The transmission reduction gear ratio is 1.9:1. Thank you for answering me so quickly. Since I first wrote I started to get into replacing the cutless bearing. I got bogged down trying to locate the set screws (if any). Was unable to, so I wrote to columbiayachts.com asking them if Columbia had even used set screws to hold the bearing in place and if so where exactly they would be? I am trying to avoid grinding too much "meat" off the keel trying to find those little suckers. It's been over a week and no answer at all from Columbia.
