I have a previously owned O'Day Spirit without rigging instruction. There areno cleats to hold my sheets. Are there photos or instructions availableto assist me?
Hey Bob, Here's a site that has some pictures of the Sprite. It's called "I love O'Days." If you need any further help, give Rudy Nickerson a call at D & R Marine in Assonet Ma. His number is (508) 644-3001. Rudy has all the O'Day parts and is very knowledgeable about O'Days. Good luck!Joe
I would like to have the exact dimensions ( including cross section )and weight of the mast for a 272LE.The mast was broken at the mid stay and the pieces were stolen.I have obtained a mast from an older 272 but was longer ( thats easy to fix ) The problem that concerns me is the mast has a larger cross section and consequently more weight . I have a wing keel but the boat the mast is from has a full keel. I am concerned about stability . Any information would be appreciated
see link. ... But if you do have a taller mast now ... I wouldn't cut it down ... the boat is pretty underpowered in light wind with the standard height ... If you could do a "tall" rig another couple of feet could be nice. can always reef. But of course if you always have heavy wind ... that's another story.Vic "Seven"
