I'm rigging the Mainsail for the first time,(It's a new boat to me) and I'm woundering if it should go on the center halyard or the off center halyard. Also which side, port or starboard (there is a winch on the portside of the mast) would the line return to. Thanks.

Halyards
The main Halyard is on the starboard side, the jib halyard is on the port side. The winch in for the jib halyard.

mainsail halyard
off centered halyard? On mine there is only one main halyard and one jib halyard. The main is going to come down to the main sail on the rear of the mast the jib on the front of the mast. Like Moody says the winch on the mast (I don't have one) is for the jib. The only winch I personally know of on a C22 the sailor uses it to lower the mast. I have my Halyards main on starboard jib on port. There is a good Fleet near you... Fleet 58, look them up fantistic sailors with at least one past National Champion
