The Traveler Controls, including the Fiddle blocks, are Garhauer brand and the problem is that the mainsheet lines running between the blocks are always twisted! This causes a considerable amount of friction and makes it difficult to adjust, pulling in the main, when there is a lot of pressure on the sail. Has anyone had this problem and solved it? Thanks Charlie

Sounds like the line

What kind of line are you using for the mainsheet? You may want to check with a local rigging expert (or West Marine) on which line is best for your traveler set-up. There are many different types including low-stretch & they'd (or someone here?!) probably be able to tell you which one you need. Good luck! LaDonna

Twisting Block

A friend had a similar problem on a C-30. I don't know if the C-28 has the same pattern of blocks, but on the C-30 the center block of the three on the boom was free to swivel 360 degrees, imparting a twist in the line over time. It was a Garhauer and had a screw that could be fixed to lock it in position so it wouldn't swivel and therefore no twist.
